The Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad explained that the Sharm El-Sheikh Conference is an implementation conference, With a view to shifting from decisions and commitments, especially in the area of finance, to creating real commitments and actions by presenting different models around the world to help accelerate the pace of climate action, whether in mitigation or adaptation, noting the role of UN agencies in cooperation with Egypt in presenting multiple success stories around the world.

She also added that all this requires examining the mechanisms for converting these commitments into operational actions and ensuring that developing countries have easy access to sources of financing. Despite the concern to provide US $100 billion in climate financing in accordance with the Paris Agreement, assisting developing countries in accessing financing is a guarantee of effective access under a number of constraints to the procedures and national capacity-building required.

Egypt has repeatedly affirmed that it will work through COP27 to enhance international action to handle climate change at all levels, achieve the goals of the Paris agreement, and support efforts to reduce emissions and provide funding for developing countries to deal with the phenomena.
