President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi witnessed the opening of the wheat harvest phase of Egypt's Future Project, via video conference technology.

The president also witnessed the harvest in a number of crops, including Al Ain Dallah farm and Wadi Al Shih area.

The East Owainat project is the second largest giant agricultural project in southern Egypt, for wheat cultivation, with an area of more than 186,000 feddans.

East Al-Awainat is located in the southwestern part of Egypt, 365 km south of Dakhla Oasis in the New Valley Governorate, and 500 km from Lake Nasser, where the rich and pollutant-free soil makes it ideal.

Its area is 528 thousand feddans divided into plots, half of which is distributed to agricultural companies that produce various crops estimated at 3 million tons annually.

This came during President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's inauguration, today, Sunday, of the wheat harvest season and a number of crops in eastern Owainat, in the largest project for wheat production, as Egypt is witnessing great efforts by the state to expand the size of the agricultural area, especially with regard to strategic commodities such as wheat.
