Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, met with His Eminence Dr. Shawki Allam, Grand Mufti of Egypt, and a delegation from the Egyptian House of Ifta today at the Apostolic Headquarters in St. Mark's Cathedral in Abbasiya, to congratulate Pope Tawadros on the occasion of Christmas.
His Eminence, the Mufti, for his part, stated that the birth of the prophets is the birth of mercy and peace for all of humanity. It is the worship of God and the construction of the earth, which can only be accomplished through cooperation and coexistence.
His Holiness the Pope, for his part, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the Grand Mufti of the Republic's annual visit to congratulate him on Christmas.
