Today, Thursday, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly attended the inauguration of the first phase of the Cairo Bike project in central Cairo, as Egypt's first public bike sharing system unique to the governorate, accompanied by Cairo Governor Major General Khaled Abdel Aal and a large number of officials and international development partners.
The initiative coincides with Egypt's preparations to host the Climate Summit (COP-27), as well as the Cairo Governorate's desire to provide healthy and ecologically friendly transportation.
The initial phase of the "Cairo Bike" project contains 250 bikes dispersed throughout 26 stations, out of a total of 500 bikes for the full project, served by 45 stations powered by solar energy and guarded by CCTV cameras.
