Received Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chairman of the Egyptian National Committee for Education, Science and Culture "UNESCO", Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Muzaini, Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Science for Arab Countries.
The minister stressed the great role played by UNESCO through its regional office in Cairo, pointing out Egypt's interest in supporting this cooperation, especially in the fields of education, scientific research and innovation.
The minister pointed to the Egyptian state's interest in science and scientific research, explaining the efforts made by the ministry during the era of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to upgrade the scientific research system within universities, raise the rating of Egyptian universities among international institutions, and increase the rate of international publication.
The meeting dealt with enhancing joint cooperation and increasing the number of UNESCO university programs in Egypt, especially in the field of applied sciences, and activating these chairs and increasing their number, with the aim of maximizing the benefit of Egyptian experts and scientists, and transferring their expertise in all disciplines and scientific fields to countries and peoples of the region.
