Sharm El-Sheikh Museum is the city's first museum of Egyptian antiquities, and it aims to be a centre of cultural and civilizational radiation, a platform for human civilizations, and a concrete complement to the city's promising tourism.
The museum's concept goes back to 1999, and it is situated on an area of 191,000 square metres. The project began in 2003, was halted in 2011, and then resumed in 2018 at a cost of 812 million pounds.
The museum has three exhibition halls, as well as a leisure area with restaurants, bazaars, traditional artisan stores, an open theatre, and arenas for celebrations and events.
