The Minister of Social Solidarity, Nevin Al-Kabbaj, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the US Agency for International Development "Egypt Workforce Project", for cooperation and partnership to implement the "Start Your Journey for Training and Employment" program under the umbrella of the "Forsa" program.
The memorandum was signed by the Ministry of Social Solidarity, Ayman Abdel Mawgod, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity for Civil Work Affairs, and by the "Egypt Workforce" project, Joseph Ghanem, project manager.
The signing of the memorandum was attended by Dr. Atef Al-Shabrawy, advisor to the Minister of Social Solidarity for Economic Empowerment and official of the Forsa Program, Dr. Muhammad Sami, Director of the Training Component Ended with Employment, and Ahmed Ghofran, Field Operations Officer in the Forsa Program.
On the part of the “Egypt Workforce” project, Margaret Sancho, Deputy Director of the US Agency for International Development, Laura Gonzalez, Director of the USAID Bureau of Economic Development, and Dr. Rasha Abdel Hakim, Senior Economic Adviser at the US Agency for International Development.
The signed memorandum of understanding aims to facilitate and support the technical support activities provided by the "Egypt Workforce" project within the scope of the Ministry of Social Solidarity and its affiliated directorates and to implement the "Start Your Journey for Training and Employment" program, where the project provides job opportunities for beneficiaries of the "Solidarity and Dignity" program and " Opportunity” and “a decent life”, in addition to providing the necessary support for the establishment of “Start Your Journey” units in the General Diwan of the Ministry of Solidarity and in a number of governorates within the scope of the project, developing the organizational structure and the roles and responsibilities of unit members, as well as conducting a needs assessment at the level of all units. Establishing an electronic portal for the program, and providing the necessary electronic equipment for the central and subsidiary units.
