Shoukry to Gabon President: Egypt intends to make its presidency of COP27 an expression of Africa's aspirations and priorities

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, President-designate of the 27th session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), met today with President of the Gabonese Republic, Ali Bongo Ondimba.

Ambassador Ahmed Hafez, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that during the meeting, they also discussed the latest developments regarding the ongoing preparations for holding the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh next November.

Minister Shoukry reviewed the Egyptian vision of the most important topics on the agenda of the conference, pointing out that Egypt intends to make its next presidency of the conference an expression of the aspirations and priorities of the countries of the African continent related to climate, especially since the African continent is one of the regions most affected by the negative consequences of the phenomenon of climate change.
