The headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo witnessed the launch of The State of Volunteerism in the World, the main report of the United Nations, which monitors the contribution of volunteerism to peace and development and enhances the understanding and spread of volunteerism.


The event will also witness the launch of the Arab League's strategy on volunteering.


For her part, Elena Panova, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Cairo, stressed the importance of the State of Volunteer Work in the World Report as an important major publication of the United Nations, which is issued every 3 years with the aim of disseminating and strengthening the role of volunteerism in peace and development, which provides new evidence on the role of volunteerism in Promote the sustainable development agenda.


She stressed the importance of volunteering in the United Nations programs in Egypt, and stated that volunteering is clearly integrated into the new United Nations framework for cooperation for sustainable development for the period from 2023 to 2027, which is being prepared with the Egyptian government.
