Ambassador Osama Abdel-Khaleq, Permanent Representative of Egypt to the United Nations, addressed the open discussion session of the Security Council on “Capacity Building for Sustaining Peace in Africa”, the importance that Egypt attaches to capacity building for national institutions; To ensure the achievement of development and lasting peace and to strengthen national ownership.
Abdel-Khaleq thanked the Chinese mission to the United Nations for holding this important session during its rotating presidency of the Security Council. The United Nations Peacebuilding Commission over the past year, as well as Egypt's continued keenness to call on the international community to provide sustainable funding for peacebuilding efforts in Africa.
