Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, met Nigel Topping, the British climate action pioneer and the United Nations high-level representative for the COP27 Climate Summit.
In the presence of Gareth Bailey, the British Ambassador in Cairo, within the framework of the meetings she is holding with multilateral and bilateral development partners and representatives of regional and international organizations regarding Egypt’s preparations for the COP27 Climate Summit to be held next November in Sharm El-Sheikh.
During the meeting, the Minister of International Cooperation reviewed the Egyptian efforts exerted to push the transition to a green economy and prepare for the United Nations Climate Conference COP27, where the National Climate Change Strategy 2050 and the nationally determined contributions to reduce emissions were launched. The meeting also touched on discussing the Egyptian and African priorities in the next session of the climate summit, and discussing how to advance climate change adaptation projects and equal opportunities for both genders in climate action.
