Engineer Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral
Resources, said that the state has implemented, within 7 years, 27 projects to
develop gas fields, with investments estimated at $21 billion.
Egypt's production has reached 6.5 billion cubic feet of gas
per day, adding that the giant Zohr field was discovered and started production
in record time. It broke all global averages and had a great impact in meeting
the needs of the local market, and it is a matter of interest for the
international gas industry in the Mediterranean region, as the Zohr field is
clear evidence that the Mediterranean region is full of many wealth.
