Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met again in New York with his Sudanese counterpart, Maryam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi, to follow up on the ongoing preparations for the Security Council session on the crisis of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
The official spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Ahmed Hafez, said on Twitter that coordination is close and continuous between Egypt and Sudan.
Sisi explained that Ethiopia's intransigence during the talks on filling the Renaissance Dam led to the faltering of the ongoing negotiations under the auspices of the African Union for months.
The UN Security Council is holding a session to discuss the crisis of the Renaissance Dam between Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan, after the failure of several rounds of talks due to Ethiopia’s insistence to proceed with the second filling of the dam without an agreement with Cairo and Khartoum.
