In the context of this, Dr. Mustafa Waziri, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, inspected the latest developments in the project of transporting the first Khufu boat from the place of its exhibition in the Khufu boat museum in the pyramid antiquities area to the new location of its display in the Grand Egyptian Museum.
He also explained that the packing and reinforcement works of the vessel’s body are proceeding according to the scientific standards used in the transfer of antiquities, and according to the schedule assigned to them. The restoration team also performs comprehensive sterilization of the vessel’s body before the reinforcement works to ensure the safety and security of the vessel’s parts during the transport process, in addition to this The use of non-acidity materials in the packaging process.
