Al-Qusair, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, said that Egypt owns one of the largest farms producing fertilized eggs that are free of pathogens in the world, pointing out that this farm is the only one in the Middle East and Africa, and this farm supports all companies wishing to invest in the production of vaccines and serums.
This came during a meeting with the CEO of the American company Kimin and the head of the MEVAC company today, Thursday, where he discussed with them the mechanisms of investment in the production of veterinary vaccines and serums.
Al-Qusair instructed the concerned authorities in the ministry, in coordination with all success partners and the private sector, to prepare a study explaining mechanisms, challenges and action plans to advance the fields of vaccine production, and to develop the gene bank to include local and foreign strains of animal diseases, while studying the plan to face risks and evaluate the performance of companies and all parties.
The Minister of Agriculture listened to a presentation on the efforts of MEFAC and its desire to cooperate with the ministry, as MIVAC is an Egyptian joint stock company in partnership with the American company Kimin. MIVAC was established in 2007 and the company's activity has developed over the past years in the field of veterinary vaccines, and its exports have doubled to more than 900 million EGP exports and EGP 500m local sales.
The company is the first and largest private factory for manufacturing vaccines in Egypt, the Middle East and Africa and has international accreditations (GMP), ISO 9001, ISO 18001, ISO 14001.
At the end of the meeting, the company confirmed its desire to cooperate and increase the volume of its investments in Egypt in the field of veterinary serums and vaccines, given the cooperation that the company attracts from the ministry and its affiliated agencies, as well as from various Egyptian state authorities.
