The Ismailia Economic Court in Egypt ruled that the court does not have specific jurisdiction to hear the case of the Panamanian ship "Evergiven", and referred it to the First Instance Chamber of the Ismailia Economic Court, to the May 29 session.
The ship Evergiven ran aground in the Suez Canal at Point 151 numbering the Suez Canal on March 23, and the Suez Canal Authority succeeded in floating it 6 days after the accident, and it was towed to the bitter lakes near the city of Fayed, Ismailia Governorate, to conduct investigations about the causes of the accident.
The Suez Canal Authority did not reach an agreement with the Japanese company that owns the ship, on obtaining the compensation requested by the authority due to the delinquency crisis.
The court also accepted the grievance in form, and the subject matter of the invitation was rejected, considering the failure to fix the debt and the seizure, and in the appeal of the grievance against the order confirming the precautionary seizure on the ship.
