The government's development plan for the new fiscal year 2021/2022, submitted to Parliament, included a number of main targets in the field of social development, which we review as follows:
1- Reducing the population growth rate to about 2% by the end of the plan year, compared to 2.56% in 2017
2- The Republic's annual gross inflation rate decreased to 6% in the year of the plan compared to 13.3% in 2018/2019.
3- Reducing the unemployment rate to about 7.3% in 2021/2022 compared to 9.6% in 2019/2020
4- A decline in the poverty rate to 28.5%, compared to 29.5% in 2019/2020.
5- Reducing the extreme poverty rate to 4%, compared to 4.5% in 2019/2020.
6- Reducing the illiteracy rate to about 17.5% at the end of the plan year, compared to 25.8% according to the 2017 census.
