Today, Monday, a number of churches celebrate Christmas according to the Western calendar

In Egypt, a number of churches celebrate December 25 of each year according to the Western calendar, led by Coptic Catholics, Greek Orthodox, Roman Catholics, the Episcopal Church, and the Maronite community in Egypt.

A number of other churches celebrate Christmas according to the Eastern calendar, which falls on January 7 of each year, led by the Coptic Orthodox Church, headed by Pope Tawadros II, and the Evangelical community in Egypt.

In this context, Bishop Ibrahim Ishaq, Patriarch of the Coptic Catholics, presided over the Christmas Mass at the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary in Nasr City.

Dr. Sami Fawzy, Archbishop of the Anglican Church, presided over the mass at All Saints Episcopal Cathedral in Zamalek.
