The electoral campaign for the 2024 presidential election candidates, which began on November 9 following the announcement of the final list of candidates, will continue and will stop with the start of the electoral silence period on December 8.

The National Elections Authority assigned committees monitoring propaganda violations in the current presidential elections to follow up on the campaigns of all candidates for the presidential elections and prepare the necessary reports in this regard.

The Authority’s Board of Directors had previously announced the final list of presidential candidates and agreed to allocate the “star” symbol to candidate Abdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil Al-Sisi, the “sun” symbol to candidate Mohamed Farid Saad Zahran, the “palm tree” symbol to candidate Abdel-Sanad Hassan Mohamed Yamama, and the “peace” symbol to candidate Mohamed Farid Saad Zahran. The laws regulating the elections set the maximum ceiling for electoral propaganda in the presidential elections, and Article 22 of the law stipulates that the maximum amount each candidate spends on the electoral campaign shall be twenty million pounds, and in the case of runoff elections only five million pounds.

In its Resolution No. 15 of 2023 regarding electoral propaganda, the National Elections Authority defined electoral propaganda as through limited and public meetings, dialogues, publishing and distributing electoral propaganda materials, placing posters and banners, using audio, visual, print and electronic media, and other activities permitted by law or decisions. Al-Haya set December 18 as the date to announce the result in the first round, and January 16 as the date to announce the result in the run-off.

The elections are being held internally in 10,85 subcommittees across the republic, and they have been inspected to ensure their technical and structural integrity, with the aim of facilitating and preserving citizens who wish to cast their votes in the elections.
