Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, along with the ministers of the Arab Group present in New York, met with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, on the sidelines of the Security Council’s high-level open discussion session on the situation in the Middle East, especially the Palestinian issue.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also stressed the utmost importance of ensuring safe, complete and sustainable access for humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip to alleviate the burden of the human suffering to which the Palestinians are exposed under the continuous Israeli bombing, reiterating Egypt’s firm position calling for dealing with the roots of the current crisis, which is the blockage of the political horizon in front of the people. The Palestinian Authority over the past decades, and the need for the international community to take action to revive a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
