Anna Durangreschia, responsible for the women’s file at the Union for the Mediterranean, confirmed that women assuming leadership positions, whether in the Egyptian government or in the private sector, has contributed to advancing the agenda of women’s economic and social empowerment in a decisive way in Egypt.
She added that Egypt is also implementing specific activities to support, above all, the integration of women into the labor market, in addition to encouraging the development of small and medium-sized women's enterprises that achieve women's economic empowerment.
She pointed to the ongoing cooperation between the Union for the Mediterranean and the National Council for Women in Egypt, which is developing new strategies and many activities in coordination with international donors such as the United Nations and others with the aim of achieving greater participation at the political and economic level for women.
