The General Secretariat (Social Affairs Sector - Department of Culture and Dialogue of Civilizations) celebrates on February 27 the Arab Day for Arab Cultural Heritage, in implementation of the League of Arab States Council Resolution No. 8030, issued in the regular session (145), on 3/11/2016, regarding considering the February 27 of each year is a day to celebrate the Arab cultural heritage, and this year it will be held on February 26, 2023. The theme “Popular Heritage in the Arab World” was chosen as the slogan for this year’s celebration, with the aim of shedding light on this type of important intangible artistic heritage that the region abounds with. Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector, stated that the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States stresses, through the celebration of the Arab Heritage Day, the importance of the Arab cultural heritage, and showing its value that lies in building civilization and human values, pride in the past, and combating the distortion that targeted history.
