Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, received Sahaba Gafarova, Speaker of the National Assembly (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and her accompanying delegation.
Counselor Alaa Fouad, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, and Ambassador Ihab Nasr, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for European Affairs, attended the meeting.
Also present from the Azerbaijani side were Alkhan Bolokhov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Egypt, Jeyhun Mammadov, Chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group between Azerbaijan and Egypt, and a number of chairmen of the Azerbaijani parliament committees.
At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly welcomed the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament in Cairo, praising the depth of relations between Egypt and Azerbaijan, as well as coordination on issues of common concern in international forums, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Jafarova appreciated the important role played by the diplomatic missions in both countries in order to strengthen bilateral relations at all levels, noting that the mutual visits of the leaders of the two countries, the latest of which was the visit of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to Azerbaijan, confirms the depth and strength of these relations.
