Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, met with Dr. Hani Al-Shaer, Regional Director of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) for West Asia, and Maher Mahjoub, Director of the Union’s office in the Mediterranean and North Africa, in the presence of Dr. Ali Abu Sunna, Head of the Environmental Affairs Agency, to discuss ways of future cooperation in the field of Protecting nature and preserving biodiversity at the regional level. The development of work in the field of Mediterranean marine reserves and Egypt’s participation in the 2024 IUCN regional forums for African and West Asian countries were discussed.

Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, received an invitation to participate in the Regional Conservation Forum for African Countries in Nairobi, as the first forum organized on the level of the African continent, and also the Regional Conservation Forum for West Asian Countries in Riyadh, to discuss the features of the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s program during the next twenty years and the work program for the two regions during. The next four years, in addition to exchanging visions between member states.
