Ambassador Baher Shweikhi, Consul General of Egypt in Hong Kong, met with Alpha Lau, Chairman of the Hong Kong Investment Authority InvestHK, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of investment promotion, and to discuss mechanisms for activating the memorandum of understanding concluded between the Hong Kong Investment Authority and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones in Egypt in September. 2023.
The Consul General indicated that the Chairman of the Hong Kong Investment Authority announced during the meeting their decision to choose Egypt to be the headquarters of their new representative office in the North African region and a number of other Arab countries. She also announced that they had launched a tender to choose the office that will represent them in Egypt, and invited the companies that Based in Cairo, which has experience in investment promotion, economic development and international business development, to submit offers to host their representative office in Egypt.
