Overlooking the Nile: "Faten Hamama" Studio at Maspero to Open Next Week
11/3/2026

Next week, the National Media Authority will inaugurate the "Faten Hamama" Studio, located on the tenth floor of the Maspero building—the headquarters of Egyptian television. The studio is nearing completion, with its technical and engineering infrastructure finalized as part of a comprehensive modernization plan for the authority’s television studios.

Ahmed El-Moslemany, head of the National Media Authority, recently inspected the progress at the studio.

Enhancing the Visual Identity of Programs

The Faten Hamama Studio offers a direct, panoramic view of the Nile, which will help enrich the visual identity of the programs produced there.

The head of the National Media Authority also reviewed the facilities at the studio’s two attached shooting sets—equipped with advanced lighting, sound, and camera technology to ensure high-quality production—as well as a dedicated reception area for guests and VIPs.

Amira Salem, Head of the Specialized Channels Sector, stated that final preparations for the opening are in place. Operational plans, along with the production and programming schedule, have been approved and will commence immediately upon the official launch. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of official media content while honoring the "Lady of the Arab Screen" (Sayyidat al-Shasha al-Arabiyya)—a tribute to her significant contributions to the history of Arab cinema and television, particularly her major dramatic works produced within the Maspero studios, such as the series *Dameer Abla Hekmat* (The Conscience of Miss Hekmat) and *Wajh al-Qamar* (Face of the Moon).
