Dr. Hani Sweilem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, inaugurated the Irrigation Museum in the New Administrative Capital on Tuesday, in the presence of Eng. Kamel El-Wazir, Minister of Transport; Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development; Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Religious Endowments; Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum; and a number of ambassadors.

The Minister of Irrigation accompanied the ministers on a tour of the museum, where they inspected its various sections and exhibited documents, and viewed a number of valuable books and references that showcase the history of Egyptian irrigation.

It is worth noting that the Irrigation Museum comprises seven distinct areas, each showcasing a facet of the history of irrigation and water management in Egypt. These areas include: a manuscripts, encyclopedias, and atlases demonstrating how the Egyptian state managed its water resources using science, engineering, and planning; albums documenting significant historical moments and milestones in the history of irrigation in Egypt; instruments such as compasses, clocks, voltmeters, theodolites, and carnometers; technical heritage items such as calculators, index cards, and slide projectors; royal furniture from the personal collection of the Muhammad Ali dynasty, located within the irrigation rest house in Aswan; models such as a model of the Zifta Barrages; and a panoramic view of the High Dam.
