Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, emphasized that the state has a strategy and action plan to support the localization of industry and the transfer of modern technologies. He stressed the particular attention given to localizing industries related to electrical power equipment within the framework of the general vision for industrial localization and the national energy strategy, as well as the volume of work and projects being implemented in this field. He indicated the commitment to providing the necessary support in this area, noting the requirements and regulations being developed to increase the percentage of local components in renewable energy projects.
In his speech during the inauguration of the Siemens factory, which produces critical electrical components and automation solutions for industries and infrastructure, Dr. Esmat, in the presence of Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem and German Ambassador to Cairo Jürgen Schulz, stated that Siemens is a partner in Egypt's success and has been operating in the Egyptian market for over a century. He highlighted the company's investments in electricity, renewable energy, smart infrastructure, digital transformation, and national projects, including mega power plants, control centers, and collaboration in monitoring and network operation systems, energy management programs using the latest technologies, and the transition from traditional to smart grids.
