Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, received President Jakop Milojević of Montenegro, his wife, and their accompanying delegation at the Papal Residence in St. Mark's Cathedral in Abbassia, as part of his current official visit to Egypt.
Pope Tawadros welcomed the President of Montenegro, expressing his pleasure at the visit and commending his meeting with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which reflects the depth of the friendly relations between Egypt and Montenegro. He expressed his hope that the visit would contribute to strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
Pope Tawadros II highlighted Egypt's spiritual and historical significance, noting the blessing of the Holy Family's visit to its land, which made Egypt a holy land, and the founding of the Coptic Orthodox Church in the first century AD by Saint Mark the Apostle.
