6/3/2026

During his visit to Tokyo, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, met on Wednesday with Koji Yamaguchi, President of the Min-on Music Museum in Japan, one of the most prominent Japanese cultural institutions dedicated to preserving global musical heritage, to discuss ways to enhance cultural cooperation between the two friendly nations.

During the meeting, Minister Abdel-Aty emphasized that Egyptian-Japanese relations represent a distinguished model of cooperation based on mutual respect and deep appreciation for the cultural and civilizational heritage of peoples. He noted that culture has been, and remains, one of the fundamental pillars that has contributed to building bridges of understanding and friendship between the two countries over many decades.

During the visit, the Minister toured the various sections of the museum and its unique collections, which include rare collections of classical and traditional musical instruments from around the world. He also learned about the museum's efforts in musical documentation, preserving cultural heritage, and promoting international cultural exchange. He expressed his hope for exploring new avenues of cooperation between the museum and the Cairo Opera House, including the exchange of expertise and the organization of joint cultural events and programs, especially in light of the anticipated expansion of the Cairo Opera House's activities with the opening of its new headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
