Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Minister of Transport, and Hassan Raddad, Minister of Labor, witnessed the signing ceremony of two strategic agreements between the Egyptian National Railways Authority and the Egyptian National Railway Industries Company (NERIC) at the company's factory. This comes within the framework of the state's direction towards supporting national industry and developing the railway system. The agreements were signed by Engineer Mohamed Amer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian National Railways Authority, and Engineer Ahmed El-Mofty, Managing Director of NERIC.
The Minister emphasized that the signing of the first agreement comes within the framework of implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to localize various industries in Egypt, including the manufacturing of components and means of transport to meet the needs of the local market and then export abroad. It also comes within the framework of leveraging the size and number of mega-projects being implemented in various transport sectors and utilizing them to serve and support In achieving this goal of localizing industry and acquiring manufacturing expertise that qualifies Egyptian-made products to compete with imported products in terms of quality, and subsequently to export them, he added that we are already moving steadily and clearly in this direction.
