Egypt welcomed US President Donald Trump's announcement of his agreement to suspend military operations in the region, according to Cairo News.

This came in a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which Egypt affirmed that the suspension of military operations represents a crucial opportunity to pave the way for negotiations and diplomacy.

The Ministry also emphasized that the US move constitutes an important positive development towards achieving the desired de-escalation.
