Upon the directives of the President of the Republic, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs, met with President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation on Thursday, April 2, during his official visit to Moscow, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and developments in regional issues of common interest.
Minister Abdel-Aty conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the Russian President and delivered a written message from the President of the Republic to the President of the Russian Federation. The message addressed ways to develop bilateral relations, enhance the strategic partnership between the two countries, and ensure continued coordination on regional and international issues of common interest. During the meeting, the Foreign Minister expressed the great appreciation that the Egyptian leadership places on the strategic partnership with the Russian Federation, which is reflected in the continuous exchange of visits between the leadership and officials of both countries.
For his part, President Vladimir Putin asked that his greetings and high regards be conveyed to the President of the Republic, praising the depth of Egyptian-Russian relations and fruitful cooperation in various fields, and commending the constructive role played by His Excellency the President of the Republic in leading mediation efforts to de-escalate tensions, support security and stability in the Middle East, and prevent the conflict from escalating.
