MP Mohamed Abdel-Hafiz, a member of the House of Representatives, stressed the importance of the intensive diplomatic efforts led by the Egyptian state under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to establish a state of calm and stability in the Arab region, in light of the escalation between the United States and Israel on one side, and Iran on the other. He pointed out that this confirms Egypt's commitment to spreading peace and protecting Arab national security.
In statements he made today, Abdel-Hafiz said that the Egyptian moves aim to prevent the region from sliding into a "comprehensive regional war" that would devastate the resources of the Arab peoples, and to ensure that Arab national security is not compromised.
The MP explained that the stability of the region is a guarantee for the stability of the global economy, which is a priority for Egypt in its dialogue with international and regional powers. He also pointed to the importance of considering the economic impact of these events and their repercussions on the peoples. He continued, "The flurry of Egyptian diplomatic activity we are witnessing between influential capitals bodes well for de-escalation, a decline in the use of force, and the rise of negotiation. This will protect the region's internal front from the repercussions of any regional conflict and strengthen Egypt's position as a true leader of the peace process in the Middle East."
He pointed out that Egypt's moves in the Gulf reflect its pivotal role in supporting joint Arab action, enhancing economic and investment cooperation, and coordinating political efforts to address the repercussions of regional crises, all in a way that serves the interests of the Arab peoples.
