Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, attended the events celebrating the International Day of Families and Peace, where he affirmed the Egyptian state's commitment – under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi – to supporting family development as a fundamental pillar of Egypt's Vision 2030.
The event was attended by a number of governors, deputy ministers, ministry leaders, and directors of health affairs directorates in several governorates, in addition to representatives of international organizations (the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the United Nations Population Fund, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the International Organization for Migration, and the World Food Programme).
The event included two panel discussions titled “Empowering the Family – Ending Violence Against Children” and “Meeting the Needs of Our Guests.” It concluded with the honoring of Engineer Adel El-Naggar, Governor of Giza; Dr. Afaf Ibrahim, Undersecretary of the Giza Health Directorate; and Dr. Mahmoud Ibrahim, Director of the Badrashin Health Administration, for their efforts in implementing the “Badrashin Primary Healthcare Centers of Excellence” project.
