During its meeting today, the Board of Directors of Media Production City, chaired by Abdel Fattah El-Gabali, approved the standalone and consolidated financial statements for the company’s operations for the third quarter of the 2026 fiscal year (covering the period from January 1, 2026, to September 30, 2026). The statements revealed a significant improvement in financial performance, with net profit reaching 750 million EGP—up from 480 million EGP—representing a 56% increase compared to the same period last year.
Earnings per share also rose to 2.99 EGP, compared to 1.90 EGP for the corresponding period of the previous year.
This growth is a direct result of the expansion of the company’s various business activities, which has positively impacted its economic standing. Key activities include:
First: Studio rentals, where occupancy rates for studios, as well as administrative and technical facilities, reached an unprecedented 100%. This was accompanied by an exceptional increase in total revenues from the company’s core business.
Second: Open-air filming locations, an area in which the company has expanded significantly. The number of such zones and sets has grown to nearly 25, with over 100,000 square meters of new filming space added in partnership with major production companies in Egypt. Third: The Egypt Film Commission, which is responsible for issuing all necessary filming permits and approvals, as well as providing logistical support to international film production companies wishing to shoot in Egypt. It serves as a "one-stop shop," eliminating administrative or technical hurdles. This has facilitated the production of numerous projects; the Commission has overseen the execution of approximately 105 foreign productions—involving teams of various nationalities—across many of Egypt’s tourist and archaeological landmarks.
Fourth: The Audiovisual Heritage Restoration Center, which has engaged with both Egyptian and Arab markets. It has successfully restored a wide range of feature and documentary films, generating tangible revenue that has contributed to increased profits.
Fifth: The Media Services Center, located on the banks of the Nile in Agouza. The center has expanded its provision of facilities and resources to international news channels and agencies operating in Egypt—including the BBC, Al Arabiya, Alhurra, Sky News, Asharq, Al-Ain (UAE), RAI (Italy), and others. This has played a significant role in ensuring that media content is presented in the best possible quality, keeping pace with major advancements in satellite broadcasting technology. Sixth: The International Academy for Engineering and Media Sciences has become a significant intellectual and scientific beacon in Egypt and the region. Recognizing the importance of continuous training for professionals in these fields, a state-of-the-art training center was established. Equipped with comprehensive theoretical and practical resources, it stands as one of the few centers that effectively integrates both types of training. The center has signed numerous cooperation protocols with various Arab and Egyptian universities and academies, and has provided training to over 3,000 individuals across the fields of media, the arts, engineering, and business administration.
Another key activity of the Media City is its hospitality sector; it owns a five-star hotel and a conference center, offering high-standard accommodation for artists and technical crews. The Media City is currently developing a four-star hotel to cater to tourism in the region, particularly following the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum. Furthermore, to support the entertainment industry, the Media City houses "Tanza"—the largest entertainment zone in Egypt—which is managed in partnership with leading entertainment companies in the region.
It should be noted that the Media Production City is an Egyptian joint-stock company operating under the public free zone system. Its authorized capital is set at 5 billion EGP, while its issued and fully paid-up capital stands at 1.806 billion EGP, divided into 180.6 million shares. During an Extraordinary General Assembly meeting held on March 30, 2026, it was decided to increase the capital by 353.7 million EGP, bringing the total issued and paid-up capital to 2.250 billion EGP, divided into 225 million shares with a par value of 10 EGP per share.
