Foreign Minister Discusses Latest Regional Developments with Turkish Counterpart
10/28/2026

A phone call took place today, Wednesday, between Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Egyptian Expatriates, and his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan.

Ambassador Nader Zaki, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the two ministers discussed the latest regional developments. This follows ongoing consultations between the two nations, both within a bilateral framework and through the "R4" ministerial mechanism, which also includes Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

Minister Abdelatty emphasized the need for concerted efforts to promote de-escalation, given the current situation in the region—a state of flux characterized by alternating signs of military escalation and steps toward restraint over the past few days.
