Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Dr. Badr Abdelatty held a phone call today, Monday, with his Eritrean counterpart, Osman Saleh, as part of ongoing consultation and coordination between the two countries to enhance bilateral ties and discuss regional issues of mutual interest.
During the call, Minister Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s full
support for Eritrea’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. He
highlighted Cairo’s commitment to boosting economic cooperation, increasing
trade volume, encouraging joint investments, and enhancing the participation of
Egyptian companies in Eritrean development projects for the benefit of both
peoples.
The two ministers also exchanged views on regional
developments in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea, emphasizing that the
security and governance of the Red Sea are the exclusive responsibility of its
littoral states. They stressed the importance of following up on the outcomes
of the El Alamein Consultative Summit to support security, stability, development,
and de-escalation across the region.
