The 5th edition of the International Exhibition and Conference for Water, Wastewater, Desalination, Reuse, and Waste Management Technology (IWWI 2026) kicks off today, Monday, at the Cairo International Convention Centre in Nasr City. Organized by "Expotech Egypt," the event runs through October 28 under the auspices of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities.
The event serves as an integrated international platform
bringing together decision-makers, experts, and global companies to discuss
investment opportunities and showcase the latest innovations in water
treatment, desalination, water reuse, and waste recycling.
Eng. Randa Al-Minshawi, Minister of Housing, emphasized that
the state prioritizes the water sector to build sustainable infrastructure in
alignment with Egypt Vision 2030. She noted that the ministry's strategy
focuses on expanding desalination and advanced treatment plants, leveraging
digital transformation and AI applications, and localizing technological
equipment manufacturing in partnership with the private sector to reduce
imports and bolster Egypt's water security.
