The General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo is hosting the preparatory meetings for the Council of Arab Housing and Construction Ministers (from October 18 to 22, 2026) to discuss providing technical support to Palestine and Lebanon in reconstruction and sustainable housing, particularly in areas affected by Israeli attacks and conflicts.

The meetings—which include the Technical Scientific Advisory Committee and the Executive Bureau—cover key areas, notably:

Urban Rehabilitation: Reviewing studies and experiences on rebuilding conflict- and occupation-affected Arab cities.

Urban Cooperation: Exchanging expertise on pioneering projects and enhancing partnerships with regional and international organizations.

Sustainable Development: Monitoring the implementation of the Arab Strategy for Housing and Sustainable Urban Development in line with the 2030 Agenda.

These discussions serve as a preparatory step for the 43rd session of the Council of Arab Housing and Construction Ministers.
