10/19/2026

The US State Department warned of the possibility that Iran and its affiliated groups might target American interests abroad, in light of the recent surge in regional tensions.

It added that "escalation in the Middle East could spread to other theaters," cautioning against the potential expansion of the conflict beyond its current scope.

The State Department noted that "Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia have caused significant disruptions to travel."

In its concluding remarks, the State Department urged American citizens in the Middle East to "exercise caution due to the complex security situation," advising them to follow the guidance of US embassies and consulates and to avoid areas of heightened tension.
