Ghanaian President Affirms Country's Eagerness to Continue Coordination and Consultation with Egypt During Ghana's African Union Presidency

John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, expressed his appreciation for the distinguished historical relations between Ghana and Egypt. He affirmed his country's eagerness to continue coordination and consultation with Egypt during Ghana's upcoming presidency of the African Union. He also valued the mutual commitment to elevating bilateral cooperation and enhancing trade and investment exchanges across various sectors that are priorities for Ghana and in which Egypt possesses extensive expertise.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, today, Sunday, in New Alamein City, on the sidelines of the 8th African Union Mid-Year Coordination Meeting.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, Spokesperson for the Presidency, stated that the President welcomed the Ghanaian President and congratulated him on Ghana's selection to assume the presidency of the African Union in 2027. He emphasized Egypt's aspiration for close cooperation and coordination with Ghana during its upcoming presidency, aiming to strengthen the path of joint African action and serve the interests of the continent's peoples.
