Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Expatriates, received Hanna Tetteh, the UN Envoy to Libya, on Wednesday. The meeting addressed the latest political and security developments in Libya, as well as efforts to advance the political process within the framework of the UN-sponsored roadmap.

Ambassador Nader Zaki, the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, stated that Minister Abdelatty affirmed Egypt's support for UN efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive, Libyan-led political settlement. He emphasized the necessity for the political process to remain Libyan-owned and Libyan-led, and highlighted the importance of pushing for the simultaneous holding of presidential and legislative elections, concluding transitional phases, and unifying Libyan state institutions—all while respecting Libya's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
