President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today in Evian, France, with Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, on the sidelines of the G7 Summit.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency, stated that the President praised the momentum and positive trajectory of relations between Egypt and the European Union since their elevation to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2024. He emphasized Egypt's keenness to strengthen these relations and explore opportunities for cooperation in innovative and non-traditional fields. In this context, he noted the ongoing efforts to implement the outcomes of the 2024 Investment Conference, as well as the economic event held on the sidelines of the Egyptian-European Summit in October 2025. The President also reviewed the efforts undertaken by the Egyptian state to implement structural economic reforms to enhance the competitiveness and resilience of the Egyptian economy and develop the investment environment, expressing his hope that this would be reflected in the volume of European companies' operations in Egypt.
