President El-Sisi congratulated President Tshisekedi of the sisterly Democratic Republic of Congo on the occasion of Africa Day and the upcoming 66th anniversary of Congo's independence and the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, noting the historical ties that have bound Egypt and Congo since 1960.

This came during a joint press conference held today, Wednesday, between President El-Sisi and President Tshisekedi, as part of the Congolese President's bilateral visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt. The two presidents held bilateral talks that discussed ways to strengthen relations between the two countries, as well as consulting on international and regional issues of common interest.
