A New Milestone for the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant Project: Steam Turbine Condenser for Unit 1 Arrives from South Korea
5/5/2026

The Nuclear Power Plants Authority announced the successful arrival of the steam turbine condenser for Unit 1 at the construction site via sea freight, with a total cargo of approximately 1,500 tons.

In a statement on its Facebook page, the Authority stated that the equipment was manufactured at the Energyen factory in South Korea. The shipment departed from Gunsan Port on April 3rd and arrived at the El Dabaa Specialized Port on May 2nd, 2026. The equipment was supplied in a manner that ensured safe transport, as it consists of several large components and parts.

The steam turbine condenser is a vital element in the plant's operation cycle, serving as one of the most important heat exchange units. Its function is to convert the steam exiting the turbine into water (condensate), while providing a high-pressure vacuum and returning the condensate to the thermal cycle, thus ensuring the efficient shutdown of the nuclear power plant's energy circuit.
