Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, met with Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, on Sunday, during his visit to Islamabad to participate in the quadrilateral ministerial meeting on the latest regional developments and efforts to de-escalate tensions.
Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdel-Aty expressed appreciation for the deep-rooted historical relations between Egypt and Pakistan during the meeting. He commended the remarkable progress in bilateral relations across various fields and emphasized the commitment to the regular convening of institutional mechanisms between the two countries, particularly the Joint Committee chaired by the two foreign ministers, and to working towards holding it at the earliest opportunity to serve the interests of both nations.
The two foreign ministers agreed on the need to continue intensive efforts and maintain close consultation and coordination to support security and stability in the region and prevent the conflict from escalating.
