Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, received a phone call from Asaad Al-Shaibani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic. The call addressed the course of bilateral relations between the two countries and the rapidly evolving regional situation.

Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the two ministers reviewed during the call ways to advance and develop bilateral relations in various fields, particularly in the economic and trade sectors.

The two ministers also discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian issue and the situation in Lebanon. Minister Abdel-Aty reiterated Egypt's unequivocal condemnation of the ongoing Israeli violations and the ground incursion into southern Lebanon. He emphasized the complete rejection of these blatant violations, which constitute a clear attack on the security and sovereignty of both Lebanon and Syria, and warned of the repercussions of this continued escalation on regional peace and security.
