The Ministry of Religious Endowments continues its efforts to renovate and restore houses of worship by inaugurating 19 mosques tomorrow, Friday, March 13, 2026. This includes the construction of two new mosques, the renovation and restoration of 10 mosques, and the maintenance and development of 7 mosques.
The Ministry announced that the total number of mosques opened since July 1, 2025, has reached 921, including 725 newly constructed, renovated, and restored mosques, and 196 that underwent maintenance and development. The Ministry confirmed that the total number of mosques renovated, restored, maintained, and furnished since July 2014 has reached 14,410, at a total cost of approximately 26.975 billion Egyptian pounds.
These efforts underscore the Ministry of Religious Endowments' commitment to developing and modernizing mosques to provide a suitable spiritual environment for worshippers throughout the country, reflecting the Ministry's dedication to the physical, spiritual, and intellectual upkeep of mosques.
