Egyptian-Japanese Schools: A Modern Educational Model for Building Future-Oriented Generations
1/28/2026

The infographics addressed the state's efforts to develop the education system and build generations capable of meeting future demands, focusing on the "Egyptian-Japanese Schools" experience. These schools are considered a modern educational model that implements a comprehensive educational philosophy based on "Tokkatsu" activities, which aim to develop the Egyptian student's personality holistically.

Tokkatsu activities are a fundamental approach to holistic education in Japan, emphasizing the balanced development of the child in terms of intellect, values, and physical well-being, rather than solely academic achievement. These activities empower students to set personal goals, engage in voluntary, practical, and self-directed efforts, and develop skills in independent thinking, dialogue, discussion, teamwork, problem-solving, and building harmony within the school community. The Egyptian-Japanese schools are government-run schools in terms of supervision and implementation, and receive technical support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The experiment was officially launched in 2018 as part of the implementation of the Education 2.0 system, alongside Japanese "Tokkatsu" activities, which aim to develop students on personal, physical, and social levels, not just academically.
